Java Developer/Tester

Profile:
Alpiq Energy SE, being part of Alpiq group with roots in Switzerland, is one of the largest international electricity trading companies in the Czech Republic and one of the major players in Central and Eastern Europe. We are active in wholesale and retail markets in the Czech Republic and in other countries in CE region.
To extend our team of proffesionals in Prague we are seeking for new IT colleagues who will cover within their expertise the whole region where Alpiq is active including headquarter in Switzerland.

Main responsibilities:
- Test Automation framework development, execution and improvement
- Development of Java (Hibernate, Spring, Flex) applications for the energy utilities domain
- Database structure design and stored procedures programming for Oracle SQL ver. 11g in PL/SQL
- Development of new and maintenance of existing software libraries for further development proces support
- Web services methods development in Java environment (J2EE)

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree
- Agile development methodologies
- Software development experience (Java/C#)
- Experience with development tools used by the development team is advantage, but can be substituted by experience with similar tools or fast learning curve based on knowledge acquired during university study
- Ability to contribute to full life cycle development – analysis, design, architecture, development, testing implementation, support, and other duties necessary to deploy business critical systems
- Analytical skills, ability to understand business needs and work directly with end users to create effective solutions
- Ability to understand and document complex business processes and translate them into solutions
- Fast adaptation to small team work environment
- Self-reliance by tasks solution combined with a strong team-oriented focus
- Good communication skills for communicating various system issues and meeting the customer’s expectations
- Effective management of time to assure commitments are met without delay
- Responsibility for tasks solution within the frame of the project
- Analytical skills, ability to understand business needs and work directly with end users to create effective solutions
- Readiness for permanent increase of achieved knowledge level
- Language skills: fluency in English is a must, German would be an advantage
- Full time job based on standard employment contract

Others (optional):
- Experience with projects in energy business domain
- Experience with continuous integration concept solution (Cruise Control)
- Experience with unit test frameworks like JUnit
